Building a Computer
Building a computer is an opportunity to interact with the various components that make it up. In this case, I will be building a computer for gaming and video editing. These are the main components I would require to build a computer.
* Processor and Cooler (Cost $180). I prefer to use Intel processors.
* Motherboard (Cost $175)
* Random Access Memory (RAM) (Cost $95); Two 8GB sticks to make the total memory to be 16 GB
* The graphics processing unit (GPU) (Cost $500). This will be critical in making games appear photorealistic without necessarily slowing the computer. It would cost
* Storage (Cost $90). I would go for the 500GB solid-state drive (SSD).
* Optical drive. (Cost $40)
* Power Supply (Cost $100). I would not go for the cheap power supply unit to avoid “torching” the rest of the components.
* Case ($125). It would be metal to enable it to stay for a longer time. The case will have plenty of space to accommodate the various components.
The total cost of the computer would be $1,305. A similar computer purchased from a vendor would cost slightly less than this amount. Since the parts of this computer have been obtained from different places, the cost will be slightly more than when purchasing a computer with the same specifications from a vendor.
