The events that occurred during the Second World War transformed American society, resulting in both positive and negative effects. After the War, the country experienced suburbanization as people migrated from inner cities. The need to improve the quality of life was the leading motivation for the migration. After the War, the government was committed to improving the living standards of the people through various policies. The GI Bill was particularly impactful. The regulation enhanced the establishment of hospitals and affordable housing due to low-interest mortgages (Mettler, 2005). The bill enhanced the quality of life for the veterans, leading to improved quality of life. Religion also played a significant role in transforming the society. The religion was associated with suburbanization; the migration of the populations is associated with the revival of American religion, which played a significant role in the transformations that occurred in the country (Klinger, 1945). Suburbanization, the GI Bill, and religion explain the transformation of the American society after the Second World War.
Suburbanization led to an increase in the population of middle class. The consumption of the products popular with this class including automobiles increased. Consequently, the automobile companies and other manufacturers started realizing massive profits and expanding their market reach. During the mid-1960s, the government stimulated the economy by establishing the National Interstate and Defense Highways Act (Divine et al., 1990). Through taxpayers’ money, the government initiated the construction of infrastructure. The regulation authorized the Federal government to build highways across the nation. The automobile industry benefited greatly from the infrastructure as the demand for vehicles rose.  
The GI Bill also stimulated the country’s economy and improved the quality of life for the people. It increased accessibility to affordable healthcare as well as housing (Mettler, 2005).
