How can college students navigate their career search during the coronavirus outbreak?
Some of the ways students can navigate their career search during this pandemic are by searching for online organizations that are looking for college students with different skills. This will ensure that at least students won't spend their time lazing around and might perhaps even earn some extra cash during this period.
How has the COVID_19 pandemic changed your current job, internships, volunteer, or educational experience thus far?
The COVID-19 pandemic has had massive negative effects in every part of the world. It has changed the whole world and how things have been functioning. The most common effect is the losses of jobs that the pandemic has brought about. Most people have been forced to stay at home as it is the safest method of avoiding contracting the disease. The massive job losses and suspensions have specifically had an impact on those people who live on a hand to mouth mode of feeding themselves.
It has also brought about a lot of deaths with it and the saddest thing about it some of the dead people were breadwinners in their families so that not only leaves people with no breadwinners but also a lot of widows and orphans. Students and Interns have also not been spared as most of them have been forced to stay at home idle with no source of income or any economic activity to earn cash (Whitler, 2020).
What are some of the challenges you have been experiencing?
One of the challenges I have experienced is a lack of income. Most organizations have been shut down and most of us have been left without jobs. Also, the lack of awareness from members of the public has been a major issue in dealing with the pandemic. Most people especially the elderly and illiterate in the villages are yet to understand the impact this disease is having on us and this what is promoting the spread of the disease at a very high rate. Also, lack of proper equipment such as masks and hand sanitizers is proving a problem since most people are selling fake stuff to survive which is not solving the problem.
What are some of the helpful techniques you have adopted to combat these challenges?
