What you will do: First things first, you need to choose your article. This may be an article based on ANY topic related to psychology. This gives you plenty of room to choose something you will enjoy researching. The only criteria, is that the article MUST be an original, peer-reviewed scientific article. What does that mean? It means the article must come from a legitimate source, and it has to have been reviewed by someone (other than the author) qualified and considered an expert in the field. How do you find such articles? You use credible sites (aka NOT Wikipedia).
What do you write about: I would like you to have a thorough understanding of your article. First, introduce the article What is it about? How does it relate to psychology? What was the research study and what are the different pieces of that (IV, DV, type, etc.)? What were the results? By answering these questions, you should have at least 2-3 paragraphs of information just on the article alone. Be sure to use appropriate in-text citations and APA guidelines (see course resources). You should also include the answers to the following: Why are the results important? What about replication of the study? Has it been done? If so, were the results similar or different? If it hasn’t been replicated, how could it be? In your last paragraph, you should include why you chose the article you chose, what interests you about the information/research, and how you’d like to see the study replicated (if it’s not already). The last 2-3 paragraphs may include more opinion-based statements and serve as a reflection of the article. Your paper should follow APA format, be 2-3 pages in length, size 12 font, and double-spaced.
• appropriate structure including paragraph breakdown, what each paragraph will include, flow of the paper, and introduction and conclusion, a thesis statement

Introduction
Mental health has become one of the major healthcare concerns across societies and solutions are needed now more than ever. Anxiety is affecting people of all changes and it is important that the root causes of the issue are unearthed and solutions sought. Scholars are working tirelessly to understand the issue better and provide support for existing etiological models for better health in their communities. Anxiety affects the growth and development of children and the effects can be far-reaching enough to affect their old ages. A variety of factors cause anxiety in children and some of them have higher impacts than others. This paper will deconstruct an article regarding an empirical research study on anxiety among children.
Article Review
The article Childhood Predictors of Anxiety Symptoms: A Longitudinal Study by Grover (2005) and colleagues serves as a report on a study that the authors carried out on 149 children who were mainly African American. Its main aim was to empirically research the factors that influence anxiety in children as a replication of research done by other authors. To identify potential predictors of anxiety in children, the authors utilized developmental models of anxiety for children and they managed to come up with a total of 31 predictors, which they classed under six categories, namely: academic difficulties, peer rejection, social adversity, loss-death, loss-separation, and negative family environment. In addition, the authors have first provided a literature review on studies that other scholars had done on the same subject to explain the replication of their findings and support the efficacy of their work while noting to cite those works for anyone who may need directions in accessing them.
Anxiety is one of the most prevalent psychological problems affecting humanity today. It is worse for children who may not understand the exact situations they find themselves in or the mitigation measures they can use to restore mental stability in their lives (Bandelow & Michaelis, 2022). It is, therefore, commendable that the three authors of the work in question have joined many others in attempting to examine predictors of the phenomenon to make better etiological models for helping alleviate the problem. The independent variable is anxiety for this case and the dependent variables include the 31 predictors in the six categories. The study was longitudinal and some participants were lost by natural attrition as they progressed with their education. Of the 149 participants, 72 were females and the ages of all participants ranged from 5 to 8. The stratified random sampling method was used, and informed consent was sought from the particip...
