You managed to schedule an informal conference with the area director at the regional OSHA office four days after you received the Notice of Citations and Penalty. Based on the citations and penalties you received in Unit III, prepare a document that lists the citations and penalties you wish to discuss with the area director.
You should summarize what you are trying to accomplish in regard to each citation/penalty you choose, to include:
the information you will use to try and accomplish your goal,
the information you will take with you to the meeting, and
who will accompany you to the meeting.
You must support your actions with reliable sources. Your grade will be based on your ability to present a case to your professor (serving as the area director) to reduce either the severity of some citations or the amount of some penalties. If you simply state that you accept the citations and penalties as written, you will receive a minimal score on the assignment. Your response must be a minimum of two pages in length, not including the title page and reference page.
You must use at least one reference in the paper. All sources must be cited in the text and on the reference page, using APA style.

In my meeting with the area director of OSHA, I would like to discuss a couple of penalties and citations with respect to the letter I received. The head of the engineers and my deputy manager have promised to be there with me. First of all, I would discuss Citation 1 Item 1a. It highlights a high-level exposure of lead fumes that are emitted beyond the permissible level. When I got to know about this citation, I carried out investigations on an immediate basis to find out whether or not a MIG welder in the frame assembly area was exposed to lead at an airborne time-weighted average of 100 µg per m3 (Eileen, 2016). I sampled a couple of recordings of lead fumes that were emitted in about 400 minutes, and there was a zero increment for nearly 70 minutes that I did not sample. I was surprised to see that the latter did not tally with my findings. Furthermore, the existing ventilation system is in good condition; this makes me realize that the removal of lead fumes from the frame assembly area would be good. Thus, the high penalty needs to be reduced or revoked as it has nothing to do with presenting the true story or the actual image of the situation. I have planned to install modern and new ventilation systems in order to enhance the overall ventilation process.
