The hypothesis proposes a runaway selection. Runaway selection hypothesis explains the evolution of certain specific physical traits in animals of a given species. The acquired traits may make the possessing species gain advantage when performing some tasks. This selection explanation was originally proposed by an English statistician known as R.A Fisher.
