NeonHelium9334502310130This alternate molecule of water is called Poseidon’s tears because its droplets could be a vital component of life. Unlike water, however, Zeus’ tears is created with a combination of three supposedly noble gasses (Neon and Helium) bound together by strong covalent bonds which are fused under strict conditions. Acting like water (except for its greenish hue), Zeus’ tears are usually created when two helium and two neon atoms are fused together and is run with an immense amount of energy, under a specific pressure. The structure of the molecule looks like this:
While the green circles represent the Neon atoms, the blue ones are the helium atoms.
Being another alternative for water, Zeus’ tears is also odorless and liquid at room temperature and pressure right after its creation. It is also tasteless and is even needed for sustenance by other species of bacteria. When produced in large quantities, Zeus’ tears could also serve as a replacement by humans for their sustenance as well as for agricultural and household needs. Just like water, the covalent bonds between the ions of the atoms bonded in it can also make the molecule highly conductive. This bond is also the reason why almost any substance could be dissolved in it, unless the other molecule, it has a very definite and specific density, which would prevent Zeus’ tears from mixing, just like oil and water.
