Jose’s Genogram
Understanding the use of genograms in one’s practice is essential for any clinician. It allows him to appreciate the patient’s circumstances better and use that information to help achieve their treatment goals CITATION Bro18 \l 1033 (Browning & Hull, 2018). In this discussion, I would like to discuss the genogram as presented above in the case of Jose (Index Person).
Genogram Analysis
As stated earlier, the Index Person, in this case, is Jose, who was born in 1980. Jose is currently 27 years old, has a Bachelor’s Degree, and has a wife named Katya. Katya is an immigrant born to Russian Jewish parents and has been pregnant for six months since 2008.
Additionally, Jose is the son of Jorge and Carmella, who are 58 and 59 years old, respectively. The two met in 1969, married in 1976, and separated from around 1986 to 1988. Their marriage also resulted in the birth of Jose’s four siblings, (1) Peter, (2) David, (3) Maria, and (4) one unnamed person. David and Maria are twins born in 1984 and are currently 23 years old.
In line with this, here are the profiles of some of Jose’s siblings.
Peter was born in 1979 and is currently 28 years old. He has a High School Degree. He is also engaged with his partner, whom he has been living with since 2000. Their partnership led to the birth of (1) two identical female twins, both two years old, (2) one female child that has a sickness, and (3) one deceased male child.
In contrast, there were no important information given about the twins David and Maria, other than the fact that they are both 23 years old, which makes then four years younger than Jose.
Accordingly, Jose’s parents are Jorge and Maria.
On the one hand, Jorge (Jose’s father) has lived in more than two cultures. However, only the Puerto Rican culture was shown and not the other cultures in which he lived. He is the son of Diego Rodriguez Sr. and Maria Lopez, both of Puerto Rican descent. Diego and Maria (Jose’s Paternal Grandfather and Grandmother) are already dead as of the time of writing, with the former dying at the age of 58 in 1982, while the latter dying at the age of 59 in 1983.
