This assignment is your first assignment in this course. It will serve to:
develop the critical thinking and writing skills of students; allow students to express themselves through a self-reflective exercise; and provide students with some early general feedback on their basic writing skills.Instructions
Familiarize yourself with Chapter 1 of the course textbook and write an essay that answers the following questions:
What is your personal motivation for attending university? 
How will attending Yorkville University help you to achieve your future goals? 
What learning tools are offered that will help you to fulfill your goals? 
How do you expect to manage your personal, family, and professional goals while attending Yorkville University?
How open are you to learning new information and processes? 
How will you accept constructive criticism from instructors and/or peers? 
What do you anticipate will be your most significant challenge in your studies?
NOTE: Try to be creative in your writing, and do not be shy about the self-reflective component. You will not have many opportunities in this program to write in first person, but it is important to be able to develop this skill. 
Submission Details
Your overall submission should include:
Title page ((include assignment title, assignment topic (paper title), student name, date, course code/title, instructor name)
Main Body - maximum of 3 pages for the following three sections (750 words, double spaced, 12-point font)
Introduction(explain what is comprised within document – should include a clear purpose/thesis statement)
Body (3-4 relevant points related to topic, each supported with one paragraph supported by at least one reference)
Conclusion (confirms what was said in body)
Reference Page (full references for all work cited in body)

This assignment should be written in first person (I, me). Most of your papers in this program will be written in third person, but there are some that are self-reflective such as this one which allows for first person perspective. 
Do not use Wikipedia as a reference – it is not an academic source.  
Ensure all references are academic sources. If an article is found in an academic journal in one of the Library databases, then you can assume it has been peer reviewed and thus acceptable. Many articles found readily online may not have been exposed to any editorial vetting process, and thus should not be used as a resource.
Creativity 
In this assignment and some others, there is a grading rubric for creativity. In the context of business writing and in this course, creativity includes the following:
Demonstrates imagination or invention where appropriate.
Broad and appropriate use of vocabulary. For example, varies use of words by using synonyms.
Writes articulately.
Clear and logical development of point of view.
Varies sentence structure to make the writing more interesting.
