‘Management dyad’ is a system of leadership or management where there are partnerships such that there is a pairing between the physician leaders and the nurse leaders. These partnerships blend the two worlds’ expertise and skills thus bringing out the best. For the highly medical functioning groups for instance hospital organizations with modern clinical systems, management dyad is a feature that is acceptable and is being adapted into the system.
Management dyad has got three key features that serve as the benefits. One of the benefits is that the responsibilities delivered by leaders in the management dyad system are much bigger than an individual would. Dyads work to secure the full spectrum of the skills in leadership. Therefore, leaders across all multidisciplinary groups are required to change the agency and bring forth strong management. The result is double or even multiple results of responsibilities delivered as compared to individual leadership.
The management dyad system utilizes each leader beyond the license. The dyad leadership is a model that maximizes leadership’s effort and time. The other aspect is that the model works to reduce the burnout of the leaders. It is easier to solve a problem using two heads rather than one.
