Is it right to enforce a ban on immigrants? Perhaps our nation is experiencing the effect. A public outcry is on the rise the USA after President Trump signed an executive order on immigration that imposes a ban on immigrants and refugees. The president was categorical about the impending issues that surround the policies and procedures of formulation that guide the law on immigration. Illegal immigration to the USA is a violation of the immigration laws by the non-citizens. Currently, the number of the illegal immigrants is above 11 million as a result of the under-enforcement of the immigration laws. In Minnesota State alone, immigrants are advocating for driver's licenses to the illegal immigrants. The effects of illegal immigration reduce financial security, goods on black market, economic and social costs amidst increased globalization that has resulted in changes in the economy. Therefore, the USA Congress should pass an immigration reform with e-verify across all the borders, employers, as well as documentation of the visa information to curb, overstay before legalizing the immigrants. Thus, the persuasive essay elaborates on the illegal migration as a major problem in the USA.
The proponents of the idea of illegal immigrants to be granted amnesty or issued with privileges argue that President Trump faulted since the executive order has no support of the constitutional fundamental of freedom and the bills of right. Furthermore, they mention that these people are denied security, good life among others as expressed in the bill of rights. Most of the Muslims are denied visas to the USA for health, life, and safety (Ellis, Wright & Townley, 2014). Thus, the proponents say that Trump encourages lawlessness and does not care of the turmoil these people undergo. In objection to the idea, illegal migrants violate the immigration laws and deny the USA citizens opportunities for employment and good life. Thus, it is important to solve the problem of illegal migration (Ellis, Wright & Townley, 2014).
Illegal immigration results to reduced financial security. The primary cause of illegal immigration to the USA is the ineffective employer sanctions. In most companies in the USA, employers value reduction of costs and expenditure and one of the main areas where businesses minimize cost is on hiring. Most of the employers do not thoroughly verify the eligibility of their potential employees. The illegal immigrants come to the USA to seek for employment with minimal payment. However, these immigrants have fraudulent documents which they present during job interviews. The reduction in verification before authentication of the documents encourages illegal immigration into the USA (Borjas, 2015). In the long run, there is a decrease in financial security in the USA.
