Besides an outstanding market or a vision growth strategy, innovation plays a significant role in an organization's success. The top leadership is entitled to ensuring that innovation is not just implementing a few company changes. Innovation should best be a guiding principle that carries the organization miles away. O'Connor (2017) posits that the leader often plays a vital role in creating an innovative environment and is usually a significant influencer of innovation. Employees get inspiration to think openly and extensively at a personal level from their leaders. Such methods of influencing change in organizations include acknowledging and giving incentives for innovation. Leaders could also encourage creativity through acquisitions and allocate a significant amount of time for these changes to occur. This paper identifies three essential conditions that should be implemented in my organization to create a culture of innovation.
Setting clear goals that align with team members and seeing that team members have the autonomy to work towards the goals is perhaps the first step. Leaders should set realistic, attainable goals that give employees the chance to think of new ideas. They should determine whether the outcomes are tangible should workers engage in creativity and innovation. Even when setting these goals, leaders should understand that failure is inevitable when creating a culture of innovation. Despite a small degree of uncertainty, leaders should not fret about setting higher standards when implementing change. Its no doubt great leaders are those that find their way back up after a fall or failure. For this reason, leaders should not fear to take advance steps into implementing or creating an organizational culture through innovation.
