The villains commonly presented in teen movies are mean people. The stereotypical male villain is athletic, which makes him popular, despite being poor academically. He is feared by everyone in the school, including the teachers and because he knows this, he can get away with everything, including harassing other students. The female villain always walks with her pack which mostly involves two similarly mean girls who follow her every lead. She also means to other people and thrives in the knowledge that she is regarded as important by others.
The comment “Adolescence is the present-tense moment in American life” means that teens are not worried about the future at all, they are more concerned about what is happening in their lives currently.
