Although academic research is an important aspect of organizational leadership, its influence can only be assessed once ideas are put into practice and applied in a workplace.This week, we focused on motivation. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs
Maslow's theory is centered on how human needs influence behavior. Maslow developed a classed hierarchical structure on how human needs affect the motivation of an individual. In his structure, at the bottom is the physiological needs and at the top is self-actualization. Maslow pointed out that an individual's need at any level is subject to reasonably satisfying the lower needs. In his theory, he states that the lowest level consists of physiological needs such as hunger, thirst, sex, shelter etc. The next level revolves is centered on safety needs; physically and emotionally.
