There are specific ways in which the portrayal of the two stories reflects much relationship and instances are evident on some parts of the texts. Firstly, both stories are given or based on a family set up, that shows discomfort of a family member that are girls precisely. Both stories portray girls that are displeased with their status of the family, Carla with the shifting issue from her home to the region she dislikes, while Connie is displeased by her mother’s tendency of finding her at fault yet praising her elder sister.
