In his book Sizwe`s Test, Steinberg relies heavily on the interviews of Sizwe Magadla, a retailer in an undersized, deprived rural community in the Lusikisiki district of the country's Eastern Cape Province, and Dr. Hermann Reuter, who functions an antiretroviral treatment program in the same village. In collaboration with the local health department, the international organization Médecins Sans Frontières meaning Doctors Without Borders has arranged local healthcare health centers to test and manage antiretroviral medicines.
