Domjan, M., & Grau, J. W. (2020). The principles of learning and behavior. Cengage.
Domian and Grau’s (2020) book highlights how individuals develop behavior. It reveals that parents are fundamental role models who can shape their children’s lives. As a result, it indicates the likelihood of these young minds embracing deleterious tendencies, including drug abuse, from their parents. Thus, this text will be critical in establishing how parents can negatively influence their children’s lives in the long term.
Kelley, M. L., Klostermann, K., Doane, A. N., Mignone, T., Lam, W. K. K., Fals-Stewart, W., & Padilla, M. A. (2010). The case for examining and treating the combined effects of parental drug use and interparental violence on children in their homes. Aggression and Violent Behavior, 15(1), 76–82. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.avb.2009.09.002
The article by Kelly et al. Others display a sense of helplessness and constant fear for their safety. Continued exposure leads to susceptibility to bullying, while others start showing post-traumatic signs. As a result, this article is essential in discussing the effect that drug-addicted parents induce on their children because it exposes the associated violence and the resultant emotional complications in the youths.
