Gabriela Alarcon and Erika Forbes claim that depression and prosocial behaviors are likely to increase during adolescence. In particular, adolescent females have a higher risk of becoming depressed than teenage boys. Alarcon is a psychiatrist, and Forbes is a psychologist at Pittsburgh University. These two individuals are professors in the realm of psychology, which means that their article is valid and credible. People care about the prosocial behavior of adolescents since it has a significant influence on their future lives. Prosocial behaviors can eliminate depression.
