Answer 1
One of the most crucial and burning issues for the American government and society is the influx of immigrants in America regarding their social, cultural, and economic impact on American culture. Even though the United States boosts its national heritage and identity as the nation of immigrants, the political, social, and security concerns in the wake of changing geopolitical and security scenarios have created an ambivalent attitude in Americans about the new and existing immigrants (Hirschman, 2006; Orrenius, 2016). American authorities, state institutions, politicians, and the public appear divided about the future of immigrants; nevertheless, scholars have pointed out that strong support exists for the continued influx of immigrants. Since more than sixty million of the American population trace their link with immigrants as either immigrants or offspring of immigrants, documentation, and policies related to immigration are the most pressing issues of this time (Hirschman, 2006).
American society owes a lot to the role of immigrants in shaping, reshaping, improving, and fortifying American society, security, cultural, and social values; besides, they have contributed to the development of a positive change in the demographic profile of American society. In addition, experts have identified four prominent phases of immigration in American history, which established the political, social, and ideological makeup of modern-day America (Bolter, 2022). In the wake of these historical realities, it becomes clear that the U.S Citizenship Act of 2021 is the most important official document of the time as it restores the world’s confidence in the American values of humanity and liberalism. This document’s core purpose is to respect American values of humanity and grant hardworking and positively contributing immigrants a chance to earn American citizenship and the rights they deserve (The White House, 2021). This critical focus of the document makes it a critically significant piece of legislation in America’s modern history.
The fundamental premise of this document is overhauling the American immigration system to modernize it and make it acceptable to immigrants. For this purpose, this document provides a legal and straightforward roadmap to help immigrants stay united with their families by earning citizenship after getting clearance from national security institutions (The White House, 2021). This bill eliminates the unnecessary restrictions on the number of years for family integration, facilitating immigrants to remain integrated into their families. This document does not allow religious background or sexual orientation to be used for discrimination against immigrants, and it allows an increase in diversity visas from 55000 to 80,000 per year (The White House, 2021). At a supplementary level, implementing this bill will protect immigrants from exploitation and facilitate America’s economic growth by allowing immigrant STEM graduates to stay in the United States...
