From the article, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt insists that four types of freedoms are vital to facilitate a harmonious relationship between the government and its citizens. The four freedoms include freedom of speech and expression, freedom from fear, freedom from want and freedom of religion. Since his speech in 1941, the four freedoms have become the moral pillar of the United States as well as other nations. The Four Freedoms Principle form the basis of the international ethical principles contained in the United Nations Charter as well as the Declaration of Human Rights that resulted from world wars and great depression in the 20th century.
