working at clinical site is the most important thing for me because it gives me the ability to experience lots of different branches of nursing. I am so pleased for being able to participate in such an amazing and interesting clinical experience at SHMC. Working on med surge unit and caring for patients each week helped me to improve my critical-thinking skills and prioritize care, helping me to gain primary experience for the daily job responsibilities of nursing in the real world.
Objective 2: Demonstrate critical thinking in the management of holistic nursing care of adults experiencing acute and chronic illnesses.
I demonstrated critical thinking in the processing gathering relevant patient information, by understanding medical conditions and health status, interpreting lab results in the context of patient health status, drafting appropriate nursing diagnosis, designing holistic and culturally appropriate nursing interventions. Equally important was recognizing teaching moments and re-evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions.
Objective 3: Apply relevant evidence-based research (EBR) and literature, to the practice of nursing.

Objective 4: Provide safe nursing care for adults experiencing acute and chronic illnesses.
I believed that I have demonstrated safety through effective medication administration, as well as by maintaining a safe environment free of clutters or spills. I responded to call light at the appropriate time. I adhered to stringent hand hygiene to avoid the spread of pathogens. I administer medications safely after doing assessment, taking vital signs, and checking lab results and I reassess my patient response to the medications as well as the advantage and adverse side effects of the medications on my patient and I document and chart my nursing care and assessment on the right time
Objective 5: Demonstrate behaviors congruent with the role of a professional nurse.
I believe I am demonstrating the behaviors, attitudes and the conduct which are congruent with the role of the professional nurses. Such qualities range from having orderly and proper dress codes, punctuality, displaying growth in nursing knowledge and skill acquisition. I also displayed professionalism in my relationships with patients and peers by maintaining professional boundaries. For example, my relationships with patients are patient-centered and therapeutic, meeting their needs. I am also displaying professionalism by respecting everyone that I come across in the health setting, regardless of gender, religion or any other difference
