Academic plagiarism is an act of deviating from the basic principle of academic integrity. Students should create original ideas in all assignments to avoid incidences of copied work. The value of academic integrity leads to prosperity in future investments and achievement in all aspects of the business environment. Researchers should also use the desired skills to avoid plagiarism. This essay covers all aspects of piracy and the ways of preventing the issue from attaining integrity and achieving ethical business environments.
Plagiarism is the kind of intellectual theft in which people pass the ideas and words created by other individuals as their developments. The action can occur two forms; deliberate copying or unintentional getting of information from a source without knowledge (Sydney, 2019). In the latter case, integrity demands acknowledgment of the origin of the report by stating the author or the publishing organization responsible for the creation of that particular work. Plagiarism is highly prohibited in academic writing. The writers have to think and produce original production in every piece of work done. There are various types of plagiarism that writers should try to avoid to produce excellent work. The first type is complete plagiarism, whereby researchers take pieces of work done by other individuals and submits the articles as their creations (Marin, 2018). In sources based piracy, the individuals committing theft uses secondary sources of data but decides to cite the primary source intentionally.
Direct plagiarism involves authors copying sections of the work done by other publishers and incarnating the information under their names. Although the researchers don’t take the entire pieces of work, the parts copied are direct quotations of the original text. Self-plagiarism involves researchers and publishers who use versions of tasks they have done in the past without attribution of the action. Paraphrasing plagiarism occurs when people make some changes to other individuals' works and use the duplicated texts as their creations (Marin, 2018). Although the words used might be different, the original idea remains similar. In accidental plagiarism, students use the work done by other individuals mistakenly and also out of negligence on various occasions.
Internet and technology have made it easy for students and researchers to acquire information on online sources. The two groups get information on quick sources and then paraphrase the information completely different words (Sharma, 2018). In the current advancement and use of the internet, individuals don't worry about late submission as they have an assurance of information availability. Secondly, social media has created centers for the nurturing and breeding of plagiarism (Sharma, 2018). The copying and reposting of other people's developments on social media have grown out of control, with no possible solutions to the problem.
