Rapid Increase in Executive and Judicial Power
summary/ plan for presentation:
This is a summary for presentation, in this presentation you will be presenting the readings of that week to the class. I anticipate the presentation should be around 35-40 mins. and I think there will be three parts:
1. presenting the readings(there are five readings for the week, 2 of them are optional and you can present less of the optional ones)
2. play 1 or 2 videos relate to the readings and the topic for that week(you need to find the videos and put the link)
3. lead a discussion on the weekly topic and the readings( you need to come up with a few questions for classmate to discuss.
Dear writer: for this order you only need to write a shorten version(like a summary of the presentation) including the main point you will be talking about the readings, the name (link) of the video you found and the discussion questions.
after this order is complete, I will place another order so that you will write the details of the presentation(the speech).
I've attached the syllabus and the grading rubrics of the assignment.
My assigned week of presentation is week 11, which can be find in the syllabus. I've also upload the readings to files.
and there were actually only 3 readings. the optional ones are not required. No Filtered
Edit
the optional ones for the week is not reading but a online game linking to the weekly topic. Here is the link and you may want to include it a little bit:

Summary
* Since the terms served by President Obama, there has been a rapid increase in executive and judicial power.
* The ability and productivity of Congress have diminished significantly, leading to a state of policy gridlock.
* Polarization is to blame for the recent decline in government agencies appointed by Congress and the executive to put into action effective policies.
* Recent presidents have taken advantage of the power vacuum created by congress’ limited capacity to perform to increase their executive powers.
Key Points
* Policymaking is the most contagious issue facing Congress nowadays.
* Judicial action has been sought as the most effective tool to restrain power expansion by the president.
* Partisan polarization is why the capacity of the Congress to make policy has declined in the recent past.
* When analyzed from a performance point of view in terms of policymaking, Congress continues to be dysfunctional.
* The public opinion of Congress would be improved if it made more effort in policymaking.
Reading 2: Separated Powers in the United States: The Ideology of Agencies, Presidents, and Congress.
Summary
* The effectiveness of democratic governance in the U.S. is dependent on the capacity of administrative officials to create and implement policies successfully.
* The size, role, and complexity of government functions have forced elected officials, including the president, to rely on other parties such as administrative officials to develop policy agendas.
* Preferences between the legislative, executive, and judicial bodies differ significantly.
* There is little systemic knowledge about the effects of such differences on delegation, oversight, and judicial deference.
