Bloom’s distinction between empathy and compassion makes sense. Bloom describes empathy as a way of imagining another person’s problem and understanding what they feel. Both empathy and compassion evoke certain feelings in an individual. The only difference is that compassion de on a person’s point of view. Empathy depends on the surfer’s point of view.
