1 Asperger’s Syndrome is a condition that manifests itself in almost the same way as ASD. Asperger’s Syndrome was first described in 1944 by Hans Asperger (Blakemore et al. par.3).
2 The disorder was found through observation of hypersensitivity of senses, particularly smell, touch, and taste (Blakemore et al. par.3).
3 Individuals with the syndrome exhibit deficits in social interaction and communication skills. They also have compulsive and obsessive symptoms (Russell et al. 525).
2 During the diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome, it is critical for physicians to understand the relationship between the abnormalities in the frontal and parietal lobes and clinical symptoms. Understanding these differences remarkably helps to quantify neuronal integrity and mitochondrial energy metabolism (Murphy et al. 885).
3 Individuals with the disorder experience delayed speech, which results from abnormalities in fronto-striatal pathways (McAlonan et al. 1594). Often, they require speech therapy to manage the drawback (Hilton et al. 72).
4 Scholars have associated prenatal alcohol and tobacco exposure with reduced attention. One of the symptoms that characterize Asperger's Syndrome is delayed learning which may result from reduced attention. According to Gibson and Porter, nicotine and alcohol cause negative brain changes, which negatively impact brain development (1223).
