Impact of Depressive Symptoms on Menstrual Cycle
In response to the question, "Does depressive symptoms impact menstrual health?" this paper will examine how depressive symptoms impact processes related to menstrual health. Mental health issues are a global phenomenon, with the CDC reporting that 50% of Americans undergo a mental health problem at least per year. When it comes to some mental health problems like depression, women are twice more likely to be affected. Aside from this burden, women must also undergo the menstrual cycle. Various research exists on the effect of mental health problems like depression on the menstrual cycle. In this regard, the current paper aims to expand the knowledge so that more vulnerable women undergoing period poverty can also have the means to navigate depression when combined with menstruation.
