The three primary environmental factors that affects an organization include competition, customers and the legal environment. Competition is one external environmental factor. Competition alludes to any ventures that offer either comparable or indistinguishable items or administrations, yet rivalry can be restricted to particular geographic areas and markets. For example, a company like Coca-Cola faces stiff competition from other big rivals such PepsiCo and Dr. Pepper Snapple in the beverages industry (Craig & Campbell, 2012). The term customer alludes to any individual who buys and utilizes an organization's items and administrations. Customer can turn into a zone of concern in light of the fact that their conclusions change oftentimes and all of a sudden. In the event that an organization can enhance and change with the changing requests of clients in regards to item, then the business will develop and succeed. In any case, if the organization can't change its item or administrations, then changes in consumer loyalty will prompt business disappointment (Craig & Campbell, 2012). The legal effects alludes to the laws, rules and regulations stipulated by the government and corporate bodies that governs all the level of business operations. Also, the legal aspects include the litigation cases in courts that affects the business. Also, some business generates income by providing legal services to other businesses. For example, law firms generates revenues through legal services and a company like Burberry Limited generates up to about $ 150 million dollars from issuing licenses.

Competition can be harmful if a company is indeed completely outshined by the competitor. And it can be positive if a company is in between the healthy competition in the market (Craig & Campbell, 2012). If the competitor is equal in status and skill level, the two competitors will enhance each other as each will strive to adopt methods that could either maintain or even improve their performances.
If customers are loyal and giving feedback to the organization then they are positive. Because organization can change product according to the customer need. But if the customer is passive, not coming to give feedback and also not targeted by the company than it will go negatively for the organization.
If the government and other corporate bodies draws laws, rules, and regulations that are favourable, the business fraternity will found a conducive environment to operate. Stiff regulations and policies are known to wedge companies’ operations as they create instances of red tape and unnecessary restrictions.
