How Does my Leadership Style Work with NIMS and ICS?
With the registered changes in environment and terror activities, leaders of the first responders during incidents have to practice command, communication, coordination, and cooperation to maximize effectiveness during such incident times. Miller (2006) and Walsh et al. (2005) posits that NIMS (National Incident Management System) was developed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with the core aim of initiating standards for planning, exercising and training for incidents.
