1 Thesis
Job promotion is associated with a few challenges, especially when the organizational leaders fail to embrace perfect ways of total quality leadership and fairness. The following is a critical approach to the job promotion issue with a review of existing literature on the various aspects of job promotion and the factors which either promote its effectiveness or lack of seriousness.
The brevity and conciseness of the thesis aid the readers to grasp what the study is about quickly and identify the need for research. However, the thesis only offers a general idea of what the essay will address. The author broadly mentions “a few challenges” but does not specify these challenges to focus the thesis further. Although the author identifies these challenges in the literature review section, detailing them within your thesis ensures that it is specific. Thus, to improve the thesis statement in terms of stating the author’s position, the author must use specific words and make an arguable claim about promotion.
2 Introduction
The author does well to tie the topic of the paper (job promotion) to some important concepts (such as leadership, fairness, and total quality), which are significant to the study. Although the introduction section provides background information about the topic, it does not clearly state the cause of the job promotion issue, or describe the scope of its exploration. The author further does indicate the extent to which previous studies have explored this topic and whether the research was successful. Introducing the paper by defining job promotion is one way to make the article interesting to the reader though there is room for improvement. For example, Porsche can introduce the study by providing a relevant statistic about promotion or gender and leadership positions in the workplace. The introduction also includes the thesis statement, which helps the reader identify the purpose of the study and the issue the author plans to address.
3 Introduction- Follow Through
There is a natural progression of ideas from the paper’s introduction to the literature review, which comprises the body of the article. Although the concepts in this section are broad, the author does an excellent job of further breaking them down in the rest of the paper. The reader can also identify some of the keywords and variables (such as job promotion, effectiveness) repeatedly appearing across the literature review under different contexts (inequality, race, gender, among others).
4 Introduction & Conclusion
Although the author makes an effort to connect the paper’s conclusion to the thesis statement and the introduction, the reader still finds it challenging to identify what the author concludes from reviewing literature. The conclusion does offer closure because it leaves the reader with a few questions.
