Dear Senator:
I am writing this letter to inform you about the "No Child left behind Act" and its impact on education reform. Since it was enacted in 2002, the Act has been essential in enhancing education standards in the United States of America (U.S.). One of the ways this NCLB enhances education is by holding schools accountable for the students' outcomes. Nevertheless, a lot can be done to ensure that NCLB plays a more significant role in promoting education reforms. Therefore, I request you and fellow members to develop actions to improve the Act and achieve positive reforms in the education sector. One way I would urge you is to help restore and integrate the original purpose of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) into the NCLB Act. This will help promote equity for children from poor backgrounds and the schools in which they attend. Notably, I have realized that such schools will need more funding to enhance building classes and support social workers, nurses, and librarians.
Without that, the No Child left behind Act has been essential in promoting education reforms. One of the critical aspects of the Act is that state education agencies have increased their data collection prevalence since its implementation. This has forced states and schools to implement changes that encourage student progress. More so, NCLB has resulted in state education departments and school districts acknowledging the existence of achievement gaps and disparities that mainly face students from vulnerable populations.
