Statement of the problem
Learning is a process that begins from birth as a child starts to learn how to cry. However, learning and teaching have behaviors and factors that ensure that they grasp the best. Kindergarten pupils are a formidable group of students to teach. Several debates have emerged on why kindergarten teachers should earn a considerable salary compared to the rest. However, the best practice is to ensure medical safety for kindergarten children between three and seven years. California Education Code demands that for a pupil to get medication from a school nurse, the school should obtain a written statement from the doctor who attended to the pupil ("Codes Display Text," n.d.). Therefore, it is essential to review the effectiveness of learning and teaching theories on ensuring kindergarten pupils' safety on medication use and keeping a healthy environment. I will then outline a teaching plan for the kindergarten course.
Justification
Aliakbari, F., Parvin, N., Heidari, M., & Haghani, F. (2015). Learning theories application in nursing education. Journal of education and health promotion, 4.
The central guides for teaching are found in the teaching theories. Aliakbar et al. (2015) carried out a study to determine the effectiveness of learning theories and point out the most effective. They reviewed existing literature about learning between 1990 and 2012. The study used cognitive theory, social cognitive learning, earning theory, and constructive theory to narrow down their materials. They found out that the application of the learning theories impacts the emotions of the learners. Unlike behavioral psychologists, Cognitive psychologists believe that learning is an internal process that focuses on thinking, understanding, organizing, and consciousness. They also found that fundamentalists believe that learners should be equipped with skills to inquire and solve problems to learn and acquire information. The study then concluded that any of the theories are useful for teaching and learning.
The California Education Code 49426 (b) demands an assessment and evaluation of pupils' health and developmental status. Part (d) requires the development of a good health plan to shield pupils from diseases ("California Code, Education Code - EDC § 49426 | FindLaw", n.d.). This code informs this study to help teachers know the beats approaches to teach kindergarten pupils safe and hygienic behaviors.
Dudley, D. A., Cotton, W. G., & Peralta, L. R. (2015). Teaching approaches and strategies that promote healthy eating in primary school children: a systematic review and meta-analysis. International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity, 12(1), 28.
In this study, Dudley et al. (2015) wanted to establish the teaching methods that intervene to teach a child healthy eating habits. Schools are instrumental in shaping a child's ways, including how to behave regarding health behaviors. They reviewed existing data limited to reduced sugar consumption, reduced food consumption, increased vegetables, fruit consumption, and improved nutritional knowl...
