Mentorship is a strong determinant in an individual’s life (Liénard et al., 2018). It helps one understand the realities of life while also working to improve them. Through mentorship, you become a better person than you were. There are various professions other than nursing that encourage the use of mentorship programs. One of these professions is that of a lawyer. When you study law, you are expected to be a master in the field. You cannot represent an individual in court without understanding the law comprehensively. Therefore, like nursing, one has to be very good at what they do. Also, mentorship plays a crucial role among advocates. It would help if you had an experienced lawyer who will take you through the practicing aspect of your profession. It would also be best if you had a perspective on how different law firms, prosecutors, and court judges operate. This will enable you to confidently navigate through your practice (Liénard et al., 2018).
Another profession that encourages the use of mentors is religious studies. This is one of the oldest works in existence. It was built on the foundation of mentorship. To date, this element remains. Often you will find theology students with mentors. These knowledgeable individuals are supposed to provide support, encouragement, and spiritual guidance to them (Liénard et al., 2018). When a student becomes a practicing priest, the mentorship program continues. This is meant to help the younger professionals renew and retain their faith.
