For this assignment, you will be taking a more thorough look into your leadership self-assessment results that you reflected on in Module One. This assignment will help in the creation of your personal development plan, which will be submitted in Module Six.
Scenario
You work as a director of leadership and learning for an organization that makes prosthetics. The organization has been in business since 1999 and employs over 350 people in its Tampa, Florida, headquarters and three plant locations across the Southwest. While the business is currently based in the United States, the organization is exploring ways to move into Canadian markets within the next three years. This year’s employee engagement survey results for the organization show that some leadership practices were rated lower, while some practices were rated higher. The new chief human resources officer (CHRO) met with the team to discuss the general results. Everyone agrees that the company’s focus should be on both specific leadership development areas perceived as strengths and on those rated as areas for improvement, primarily regarding social intelligence, emotional intelligence, and the interpersonal skills of effective leaders.
To help this initiative, your manager, the vice president of leadership and learning, asked you to create an adaptive leadership toolkit that can be used throughout the organization. To begin this work, you conducted a personal leadership self-assessment, and now you will be taking a closer look at these results to produce a self-assessment report. You plan on exploring how this self-assessment would make a beneficial contribution to a personal development plan and adaptive leadership toolkit, which will help to resolve the leadership challenges the organization is currently facing.

This work will help to inform your personal development plan, which you will create in Module Six.

This work will help to inform the adaptive leadership toolkit that you will develop in Module Seven.

The interaction between individuals who desire to manage and those who want to abide is leadership. There are instances when the engagement is one-on-one; it can also be a one-to-many situation. Administrators must comprehend the intricacies of this engagement, irrespective of the number, to arise, develop, and prosper in these unfortunate circumstances. Moreover, considering the five leadership behaviors, I tend to rank high in a section of the behaviors as I, unfortunately, record bad performance in others. Below is the ranking of my leadership behaviors;

* Challenge the process – 52
* Enable others to act – 61
* Encourage the heart – 38
Regarding the datum, model the way is my highest ranking leadership behavior, leaders are expected to stand strong for their views, and I should have some to begin with. Leaders should state their primary beliefs clearly (Kouzes & Posner, 2018). I should first discover my personality and then show sensitivity to my ideals precisely and accurately. On the other hand, leaders cannot merely enforce their principles upon others and project them to follow them (Díaz et al., 2019). Outstanding leaders understand that it is their actions that gain their admiration. The ultimate measure is if I follow through on my promises and if my comments and deeds are in sync (Ghias et al., 2018). Leaders use straightforward, daily actions that promote development and energy to lead by example and motivate staff.
On the other end, ‘Encourage the heart’ was my lowest ranking leadership behavior. However, successful leaders have lofty aspirations for their businesses and establish good expectations (Ghias et al., 2018). Leaders also have high expectations for their employees and generate inner predictions on how common people may achieve amazing accomplishments. I should excite, reignite, and emphasize a person’s strengths through actually listening, motivating and inspiring, expressing praise, and keeping a cheerful viewpoint. A portion of the leader’s role is to express gratitude for folk’s efforts and foster a celebratory atmosphere (Kouzes & Posner, 2018). Inspiration can be expressed in various ways, including big gestures and simple actions.

The business rates are lower in leadership behaviors, including enabling others to act, encouraging the heart, and challenging the process.
