Enlightenment and The American Revolution
The pronouncement of the liberation of thirteen north American states from the British marked the independence of the United State of America. Patriotic Americans on every fourth of July celebrate the independence anniversary. The declaration of independence occurs during the period of enlightenment and therefore the document bears the ideas and philosophies of enlightenment. The American revolution also emerged as a result of American antagonism to the British policies.
The ideas of the various American thinkers; James Maddison, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson have been articulated in the various documents; Declaration of independence, U.S Constitution, Federalists Papers that form the building block of the republic of united states. The different philosophizers had varying attributes unique to them and therefore their work bears these attributes as well that forms the basis of the American enlightenment.
The American enlightenment era enabled the Americans to react against the British colony that treated them unfairly and exploitatively. The arrival of European and African newcomers facilitated the formation of ethnic groups. The Americans assimilated t...
