Background of the Revolutionary War
The American Revolution was an outbreak of violence that resulted from increased repression, and unfair demands of the ruling government against the colonialists. The violence from the colonialists took the form of the revolutionary war. The war was a result of the rising tensions that escalated between the British crowns, which were represented by the colonial government and the thirteen North American colonies of Great Britain. The thirteen colonies, which formed the USA, began to demand a change from the British rule, and this led to constant rebellion and discomfort. Nonetheless, the main issue that sparked the tensions between the colonies and eventually resulted in the evolution was taxation. The British government attempted to increase taxes as a means of raising revenues, by incorporating the Stamp Act in 1765, the Tea Act of 1773, and the Townshend Tariffs of 1767. The enactment of such tariffs was made possible by the fact that the parliament was elected by individuals residing in England, rather than the colonialists who were underrepresented in parliament. Resultantly, colonialists demanded no taxation without representation. A majority of the colonists rebelled and protested against higher taxes and demanded better representation, which would facilitate their efforts of demanding better laws and fighting oppression. As more individuals joined in the protests, the rebel groups became more powerful. Eventually, the resistance led to the rise in violence after British Soldiers opened fire on a group of protestors in 1770, killing five individuals in what was considered as the Boston Massacre. Therefore, the unequal representation of the colonialists in parliament was the main reason that allowed Britain to oppress the colonialists since they did not have representatives to defend their views on higher taxes.

The original constitutions highly reflected on the ideas of the founding fathers concerning the U.S. The document was designed to grow steadily over the coming years by ensuring that the provisions of the constitution could be improved hence facilitating maturity. When writing the constitution, the founding fathers paid close attention to federalism since the nation had undergone years of loose amalgam, and the Congress was highly dependent on the states for monetary...
