Dear Students,
Due to COVID-19 and the changes in availability of face to face field experiences the Education Pathway at Perimeter College, we have developed virtual field experiences. You all have elected to participate in the University Family Resource Partner Story Telling and Program Virtual Field Experience. Thank you for agreeing to participate in this phenomenal program. Below you will find the directions for completing your story as well as a media release form you will need to complete so that your videos will be made available to family care providers and the children who will engage with the video. You may read the story on video. Once you have recorded this you may save it as a video file. This video will be shared only with family care providers in the metro Atlanta area as vetted by BDCI-Atlanta and the University Parent/Family Resources Committee. Zip or compress the files and emailed to me.
The book you choose to read must be for PreK- 5th grade learners. You are required to create any activities that you think would be fun and engaging for the children as part of the story in the form of an after the story activity plan. Your instructor can assist you with that whether it include arts and crafts, puppets, puzzles, games, journaling, songs and/or otherwise. You will use the Georgia Performance Standards for your activity plan I am including the activity plan template. Please be sure to check the recommended ages for all books and activities. This file (with video recordings/ instructional activities) will be due to me May 7, 2021 by 5:00 p.m. Do not be afraid to be creative!!!!
I encourage you to practice reading this story to a child in your family or community to make sure it sounds natural. I am including the activity plan template and the media release form. I will sign your field experience verification form once you send me your video/ files and creative activities. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please use google drive to send your video and documents. Do not send them separately.
