Who Is My Hero?
My hero is Simone Biles, the 2016 Olympic Games gymnast. Simone Arianne Biles was born on March 14th, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio, United States of America. She is 20 years old. She lives in Spring, Texas and specializes in artistic gymnastics. Simone is the individual all-around, vault as well as floor gold medallist for the 2016 Olympic Games. She was a part of the medal-winning group at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro that was called the “Final Five.” She is the three-time world all-around and floor winner and two-time world balance beam winner.
Simone Biles is the third of four siblings. Her biological parents were unable to properly take care of her and her siblings due to their struggles with drug and alcohol addictions. Biles and her siblings were, therefore, forced to live in and out of foster homes until they were adopted by their grandparents. She started gymnastics at the age of six while on a day-care field trip. While in high school, she began home-schooling in order to make time for gymnastics training sessions.
Simone Biles is my hero because of her numerous achievements in the world of gymnastics and outside of it too. Sports, in general, require a person to be disciplined and dedicated all the time in order to reach such great heights participating and winning in the Olympic and World Championships games. Her constant efforts and struggles to become a better gymnast even when she battles injuries is a source of inspiration to anyone struggling to become a better person in whatever they are pursuing.
