Advantages and Disadvantages of Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is the ability to store and access files via the internet. The cloud has the advantage of updating the software among all employees quickly as opposed to updating the systems in sections. It can allow employees to collaborate and access projects from anywhere in the world. Cloud computing reduces the cost of storage. Documents are no longer required to be printed or shredded. Storage devices or no longer required. When information is stored on the cloud if an employee receives a new computer, the employee can be up and running quickly since accessing the stored information can be accessed from anywhere. The disadvantage of the cloud is that it is internet based and requires a reliable connection or it can cause issues with accessing the information. Cyber-attacks are on the rise and having all records stored electronically can lead a company vulnerable to attacks. If there is a technical issue with the cloud it can cause a major downtime while waiting for the system to be up and running again. While there are disadvantages to cloud computing the advantages can help your business to run smoothly.
There are many cloud computing services that help business to run smoothly. I have Adobe and Adobe Sign on my phone. These apps came in very handy during the mist of Covid. My son had several new doctor appointments where the documents were emailed but they weren't editable. With the Adobe apps I was able to sign and email the documents back to the different providers easily. Next, I will say that One-Drive is my next favorite. I have it on my computer and phone. Having it on both devices allows me to access any and all of my pictures and documents that are stored on the One-Drive when I am home and by my computer or if I am away and only have my phone. The cloud computing that I am familiar with at work is Salesforce. We use the data system daily to work the tasks that are created to view student's information, notate the accounts. The system works together with GENESYS our phone system which through the computer. Our tasks are delivered to us so that we are able to answer phone calls, respond to emails, and review a student's account. The systems work well together but work independently of each other. If Salesforce is having technical difficulties our phone system still works but then we are unable to assist the student if the call in.
