Why Abortion Should Be Legalized
Ladies and gentlemen;
The topic of abortion has continued to elicit heated debate across the globe. Abortion is the practice of ending a pregnancy through medical administration or surgical procedures. Some countries have banned abortion, while others allow it. In the United States, abortion is often mentioned alongside the word "medical." This means that it is terminating the pregnancy with the help of qualified medical personnel. Therefore, procuring an abortion without the help of a qualified physician has always been considered an offence. Abortion has been legal in the United States since 1973 in Roe v. The result is teenage pregnancies which often disrupt the educational journey of girls. In cases where abortion is illegalized, such girls waste at least one academic year in maternity while their male counterparts continue their education. Legalizing medical abortion helps them to continue their education without disturbance. It ensures they finish their education, get employed, save enough and settle to raise a child.
Legalizing abortion will help women to get pregnant and have children when they are ready financially and psychologically. Pregnancy is a 9-month journey full of challenges, expected and impromptu. This calls for a person to be prepared psychologically. Among the challenges include sickness, mood swings, and stigma in some cases (National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine., 2018). One needs a strong psychological character...
