How a Change of Attitude Facilitated Behavioral Change
Attitude refers to a learned predisposition that makes an individual respond favorably or unfavorably toward specific things. Indeed, it is developed through personal experience, interacting with others, and from the media among others (Gass & Seiter, 2011). Attitudes usually precede and, to some extent, direct people’s actions. They are directed toward or about things. For example, some individuals hold negative attitudes toward abortion, even if the mother’s life is in danger. They simply believe that abortion translates to killing innocent babies. The paper focuses on one instance when my attitude made me change its associated behavior.
