Gun violence is a multidimensional and complex problem that results to use of guns in an unlawful way that can cause harm, accidents or death intentional. Gun violence is linked with the convergence of community, school and socio-cultural risk factors that interact over time during adolescence and childhood (American Psychological Association, 2017). Gun violence incidences can either be mass shootings, suicide or homicide. Reducing occurrences of gun violence intensifying from suicide or unlawful transgression is the main objective of wider prime and secondary intervention and prevention tactics.
Lethal violence is a kind of violence that requires using other ways of fighting other than just your bunches. Factors contributing to lethal violence include mental illness, easy access and distribution of guns and peer pressure. When it comes to gun control, many countries have a very stringent requirement, and the United States has the very modest policy. Individuals with mental illness have different disorders that affect their thinking and how they react to situations, thus may end up committing violent crimes due to uncontrolled behaviors.
