Research Methodology
In this section, the researcher looks at the methods that will be used and procedures that will be taken in the collection of data and evaluation of the same data. This section thus includes location of the study, research design, population involved during the study and the procedures used in the study.
Research Design
In this study, the descriptive research design will be used. This will also include a literature review design during data collection. The research will also look at the literature review study where six steps for the success of a literature review by Kothari, (2004) will involve finding the main issue, researching, organizing, arguing and composing the review.
Study Area
The study area for this research will not be limited to a particular country. however, the researcher will select respondents from women and girls of different social and economic backgrounds to ensure there is equal representation on the issue of domestic violence. In particular, the research will focus on factors leading to domestic violence, the coping methodologies and empowerment programs for victims of domestic violence that will have participated in the study.
Study Population
For this research, the study population will include men, women, and professionals in the field domestic violence, all of whom will make a total of 80 respondents. The population sample will include 20 girls who have suffered various forms of domestic violence, married women, divorced women, married men, police officers, leaders of women organizations and medical practitioners.
