Christianity
Christianity is one of the major religions in the world in which I am very excited to learn about and understand its origin. Religion has been there for many years, and the number of followers continues to increase. Currently, there are over 2.38 billion Christians worldwide. Christians believe and pray to God to help them overcome their problems and lead healthy lives. I am more excited to know how Jesus descended on earth and God’s purpose for Christians. The paper focuses on Christianity since I want to understand religion better.
Christianity started with Jesus Christ, the son of God, who was sent from heaven to explain how Christians should live. In that light, Christians obtain crucial lessons from the birth, death, resurrection, baptism, and the teaching of Jesus. In particular, Christianity is said to have started in the first century A.D. Jesus was the chosen one, and He descended on earth to give an excellent example of how Christians should live and overcome various challenges. That is why He resurrected in Judea, and a small group of Jews began to follow Him and spread the word of God (Kruger, 2018). Jesus visited different places and performed miracles, such as healing sick people. As a result, many people started following His teachings, and those against Him persecuted the son of God. However, regardless of all the struggles that Jesus came across, He overcame them. Christianity became a renowned religion that expanded to different parts of the world during the Age of Exploration.
Specifically, Christianity is a monotheistic religion that is based on the teachings and life of Jesus. Christians are encouraged to follow in the footsteps of Jesus so that they can get to heaven after judgment day.
