Every religion across the world is unique and attention-grabbing. That is, each religion has specific doctrines and beliefs that are different from other religions. Research shows that eight in every ten people are affiliated with a specific religious group, with Christianity and Islam being the largest religious groups (Pew Research Center, 2020). Islam is the second-largest religious group and the fastest-growing religion across the world yet the most misunderstood religion (Lipka, 2020). According to the Pew Research Center (2020), if the current religious trends continue, Islam will be the world's largest religious group by the end of this century. For this reason, my interest is drawn to learning about Islam, apprehend most misconceptions surrounding the religion, and reasons that inform its fast growth.
Islam is a monotheistic religion, and followers believe in Allah and Muhammad as the last messenger of a series of prophets. Globally, over 1.8 billion people are Muslims.
