In this assignment, you will be asked to list, in order of importance, 3 of the 6 conditions listed in your textbook, that are listed for further study in the DSM V. The conditions are listed in a chart on page 92, of the printed book, 6th edition.
You will list the 3 of the six conditions in ranked order as to the importance or need. It is your decision to make as to which 3 are most important, and what ranked order they should be placed in.
You will list them by name with a brief description of the symptoms. A brief description of symptoms would be no less than 100 words per descriptor. You can use information you have found in the textbook, or you can use another source. You can then briefly describe why you included the conditions you chose to list in your paper.

DSM-5 or Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders is a manual that is utilized to define and classify mental disorders for the purpose of improving diagnosis, treatment, as well as research. In DSM-5, there are conditions that have not been accepted yet as mental disorders but are considered for classification. Conditions that need further study include suicidal behavior disorder, caffeine use disorder, attenuated psychosis syndrome, non-suicidal self-injury, persistent complex bereavement disorder, and Internet gaming disorder. Among these conditions, suicidal behavior disorder, internet gaming disorder, and caffeine use disorder should be given more attention for further study due to their prevalence and increasing trends in the work today.
When ranked according to importance, suicidal behavior disorder should come first. Every year, millions of lives are taken away due to suicidal behavior. One of the crucial public health concern nowadays is suicide. Public health promotes the identification of risk factors and helping those who are at risk. However, despite these efforts, suicide rates have still been increasing. Studies show that some people who took their lives by suicide doesn’t have any mental disorder associated with suicide (Oquendo & Baca-Garcia, 2014). Suicidal behavior disorder has five criteria that are proposed to DSM-5. This includes (1) attempt of committing suicide within 2 years; (2) during the suicidal attempt, none-suicidal self-injurious behavior’s criteria were not met; (3) the diagnosis is not applicable to suicidal attempt or suicidal ideation preparation; (4) suicide was not attempted with an altered mental state (e.g. Condition, delirium); and (5) the act was not motivated by ideology such as political or religious (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
Internet gaming disorder should be second on the list according to the importance of further research. The rise of online games has greatly influenced the young adult population nowadays. It is estimated that about 160 million Americans engaged in internet-based games....
