Case Study
For the past five years, suicide cases have increased immensely. Technological development has come along with other issues such as cyberbullying, body shaming, and physical bullying. Body shaming contributed to suicide cases by leaving the victims who had less knowledge of such problems helpless. Underreported cases of intentional suicide make the number of suicide cases increase daily. Body dissatisfaction is a major contribution to anxiety, depression, stress, and substance abuse. Depressed or stressed individuals think of committing suicide. People do not understand that there are other ways of dealing with cyberbullying instead of committing suicide. As well, individuals treated outpatient facilities commit suicide uncontrollably. Extremera et al. (2018) write that counselors do not offer a hundred percent guaranteed depression treatments hence making that percentage of undiagnosed depression. Cyberbullying contributes to undiagnosed depression, whereby individuals fail to reveal hurting information to their peers. Locking information causes more pain hence losing control over emotions.
It is in the social media platforms that individuals across the world spend most of their time. Social media has various activities and developed chartrooms that individuals can interact by sharing personal information with strangers. Not all individuals on social media platforms have respectable intentions; others have malicious activities that threaten human life.
