Understanding the differences between Consent and assent is essential for any healthcare professional. This goes the same for psychological mental health providers, which are required by strict standards to acquire Free and Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) from their patients. In line with this, some of the standard terms that are used in the provision of mental healthcare are Consent and assent.
