How a team leader initiates a team and its first meeting can be instrumental to the success of the team. An initial dilemma that a team leader may face is deciding whether to first meet with the team collectively or meet with team members individually. After viewing the E.I. Games simulation, answering the questions, and watching the learning outcome, address the following from the perspective of a team leader:
Explain why the first meeting of the team is important for the team’s success.
Describe the approach you would implement to your initial meeting with your team: to meet collectively with its members or meet individually with its members.
Explain the advantages and disadvantages of the approach you chose.
Illustrate how you would approach the initial meeting differently.
