Conclusion and Recommendations When I began this course, I thought that a case study is a story describing real events occurring in a particular organization or event. However, I have learned numerous things about case studies. First, a case study entails a research methodology that is acceptable in academia. Second, it involves asking the questions of why and how (Yin, 2018). Third, a case study gives an in-depth description of a specific social phenomenon. For example, there are numerous case studies analyzing major catastrophic disasters that have happened in the past. Fourth, case studies usually involve consulting to collect accurate data. The interviewer must present the question well to get proper answers to the situation being investigated. Specifically, there exist qualitative and quantitative case studies (Houghton, Murphy, Shaw, & Casey, 2015). As a result, case studies enable individuals to study phenomena that have happened in the past and obtain relevant lessons to get prepared to address various problems that are likely to occur.
