Evidence reveals that the food wasted annually could be enough to feed an enormous number of people. There are two main reasons why people waste food. First, when people visit restaurants, they are usually starving. Consequently, they are likely to order more food than they need. The strong hunger cues drive them to do so. However, after eating a portion of the food, the hunger cues diminish, and the utility of the remaining amount of the food lowers.
